The Volvo EX60 offers optional built in child booster seats. They’re more crash worthy than an added child seat because of their direct attachment to the seat. Genesis doesn’t offer the convenience and security of a built-in child booster seat in the Electrified GV70. Their owners must carry a heavy booster seat in and out of the vehicle; EX60 owners can just fold their built-in child seat up or down.

The Volvo EX60 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The EX60 has standard Post-impact braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Earlier warning of stopped traffic, traffic signals, dangerous road conditions, weather, or accidents, can keep driver's safer and prevent crashes. The EX60 has Connected Safety, a system that seamlessly communicates important warnings to the driver about impending danger, if they're available. Both the EX60 and the Electrified GV70 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The EX60’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the Electrified GV70’s (12 vs. 7 years).

There are over 36 percent more Volvo dealers than there are Genesis dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the EX60’s warranty.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Volvo vehicles are more reliable than Genesis vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Volvo 6 places higher in reliability than Genesis.

The EX60 P10’s standard electric motors produces 20 more horsepower (503 vs. 483) and 8 lbs.-ft. more torque (524 vs. 516) than the Electrified GV70’s electric motors. The EX60 P12’s standard electric motors produces 187 more horsepower (670 vs. 483) and 67 lbs.-ft. more torque (583 vs. 516) than the Electrified GV70’s electric motors.

The EX60 has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the EX60’s wheelbase is 3.7 inches longer than on the Electrified GV70 (116.9 inches vs. 113.2 inches).

The design of the Volvo EX60 amounts to more than styling. The EX60 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .26 Cd. That is lower than the Electrified GV70 (.29) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the EX60 get better fuel mileage.

The front grille of the EX60 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The EX60 has 2.4 inches more front headroom, .4 inches more front legroom, 2.3 inches more rear headroom and .8 inches more rear legroom than the Electrified GV70.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The EX60 Ultra has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Volvo EX60 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors are only offered on the Electrified GV70 Advanced/Prestige.

The EX60 is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Electrified GV70 doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
